Summer
The summer has been going really great! We have been working on our tans by going to Zoombezi Bay- a new water park next to Columbus Zoo. It is a fun place!! We went to Chicago visiting my sister and her family. We are VERY excited to have a new additional to our growing family! My sister s due to have the baby on November 5th. We also visited Susan and her family. We finally got to meet the cute redheaded boy by the name of Toby!
For 4th of July, we went to Lower Salem to stay with my mom and Lou. We had fun and got the BEST sweet corns at Marietta's farmer's market. We now have a vegetable garden- growing tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots. Next year, I will add lettuce to the garden menu. :) I need to start small so I don't get overwhelmed!
I went to Colorado for the Hands & Voices conference for three days with Tabby. W O W! I admit I wasn't sure if being unbiased with your deaf child's communication methods is possible. BUT i was wrong. I am IMPRESSED with the folks I met at the conference- No one judged you for what you and your child chose. There are mothers whose child is implanted and only use spoken language to whose child use sign language with no hearing aids, yet we all interact and really talk with each other. That's the beauty part of the organization. curious? www.handsandvoices.org I had a great time traveling with Tabby. She is a easy person to travel with and fun too!!! Thanks Tabby for inviting me to join you to the conference!
While at the conference, I got to hang out with one of my dearestestest friends, Jennie Germano and her beautiful family. I truly wish we live right next door to each other and share the backyard with them. I just need to convince them to move to Ohio. :D
Soon, my dearestestest friend Kate will be staying with us. She lives in Italy and she s now in USA to be with her family and doing some work in NYC/DC. I look forward to having her here with us, playing on Wii, of course going to Zoombezi Bay!, and just hanging out, spoil her with peanut butter ice cream.
Terry will be flying to Ottawa to be with his brother, Corey. It will be girly times for me and Tova! Time to pull out all those nail polishes, cucumbers, face masks, etc. :D
we have a few weeks left of the summer. I don't even want to think about going back to work! Even thou I admit I have been doing some unit plannings. Teachers are NEVER done until they retire, even thou we get the summers off! Tova s going to go on her last year in preschool before she starts Kindergarten next year. I am SO not ready for that. I probably will embarrass her by sobbing in the hallway when she walks to her kindergarten. :D
I just now am seeing a butterfly on our flowers in the front yard. NICE!
Cheers and enjoy the summery day!
Best Buddies!

Lately, Coyote has been really letting Tova play with him. I think he is either mellowing out or getting senile. Enjoy the pictures!
